1 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | Mother Superior | 89281
I come here to fellowship with other Christians. Romans 14:12-13 And so each of us shall give an account of himself [give an answer in reference to judgement] to God. Then let us no more critize and blame and pass judgement on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle or a hindrance in the way of a brother. |

2 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89304
I thought this was a serious question and answer forum. My appologies. Instead of the word you, I meant to use "we." I simply asked a question that was designed to make people think about where they should go to get answers to questions concerning (their) eternal soul. Where I hope those who post answers herein go or have gone before. If asking a question designed to get people into the word of God is "Judgement," I am guilty and make no defence. This is a question I wish someone would have asked me long ago, for if I had only known then of all the False Prophets in "brothers, sisters and preachers clothing.... " What percentage of todays Evangelists, TV and Radio preachers AND churches invite or challenge the congrigation to study the word for themselves? Thank God, There are many. However, anyone who does not live in a dream world would surely agree that there are more that do not than do. A person has to have a discerning spirit to tell them apart. Discernment. Judgement. Look them up. There is a fine line between these two words, but there is a difference. If truth is a stumbling block, I make no appologies. If bluntness is a stumbling block, I have only spoken the truth. If, and only IF I am wrong, I appologize. May the Lord and whoever I have caused to stumble forgive me. HERE IS THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. KJV 1Co 2:14 Here is what I was trying say to the carnally minded: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV 2Ti 2:15 George |

3 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | EdB | 89314
George You asked a great question and I think the answer is seen in our society we have turned into a race of people that want something for nothing. We want the pastors and teachers to read and study the word and just be available to give us the answer we want when we want them. That answer should not include any effort on our part and should get us out of trouble much like bankruptcy does when we abuse our credit. The first time you supply an answer people don't want to hear your immediately accused of judging, just as you were when you asked this convicting question. Good questions!!!! EdB |

So true. Thank you EdB. It is refreshing to see that there is at least one who has responded thus far who is "spiritually receptive." Namely yourself. I would add that when people don't like the answer one gives, not only do they accuse you, but they continue to ask till they receive the answer they desire, whis is more often than not, contrary to the word of God. LORD HAVE MERCY on them, and giver of the "desired" answer... For even though they may have recieved instructions contrary to Gods word, THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. But much more so will the giver. " But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.Mat 18:6 George |

5 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | EdB | 89347
George Spiritually receptive! Hush not so loud, there are those that are sure I'm a pagan. :-) George what we have done is created our own God, it is as if God was a large pie cut into many slices. We see the slice labeled love so we put it on our plate, we see the slice labeled forgivness and we again put it on our plate. We see the slice labeled holiness, or righeousness and we push them aside. When we are done we have on our plates a God that loves us, forgives us but makes no requirements of us. A God that gives us anything we want when we want it but does not ask anything from us in return. In effect many have created a false God or idol. Be blessed and welcome to the forum EdB |

6 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89350
I know that our Lord foretold of those of whom you speak. That seeing, they would not see and hearing, they would not hear. My heart is so heavy for them, but they will not listen. Time and time Israel forsook God. Time and time again, they repented. Time and time again, God forgave them. So it is today. But time is not on our side. We, the individual are not as the generations of a Nation. As a flower withers, so do we. As a raging fire through a forest hardens an old tree stump each time it passes, so does the word of God to our heart each time it passes through unaccepted. Thanks EdB George |
