1 | Is hearing necessary for salvation? | Rom 10:17 | Mommapbs | 76387
"Is hearing the Gospel necessary for salvation?" I don't mean to be glib, but if this as you responded, then wouldn't deaf people be excluded from salvation? Jer 5:21 "Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see; Who have ears but do not hear." What does it mean to "hear " the Gospel? mommapbs |

2 | Is hearing necessary for salvation? | Rom 10:17 | Hank | 76422
Paul's chief point here in Romans 10:17 and in verses 14 and 15 is that the gospel message must be presented and received in order for one to have saving faith. Obviously, the message can be communicated to the deaf via sign language or the written word. --Hank
3 | Is hearing necessary for salvation? | Rom 10:17 | Mommapbs | 76501
Hi Hank, great to hear from you again! I've been a bit taken aback by some of the theology batted around here of late and so my question was a bit "tongue in cheek." As I noted, there are indeed many "blind guides." BTW, I really thought your post on baptism and the Holy Spirit was great. It continues to amaze me that many folks limit their ability to grasp the spiritual significance of God's Word by clinging to physical elements. Blessings, mommapbs |
