Robert, I like agree that the Romans 10 passage you quote is appropriate to the discussion. Of course you have to 'hear', really hear, to be saved. However, I think the following statement is not supported: "...Only the Spirit of God can give understanding of spiritual things." The Bible is delivered to us by the Spirit: it is the Spirit's sword. It is not correct doctrine to say that the sword of the Spirit is delivered to us man as some kind of hidden code, unreadable or understandable to the unwashed masses. They do understand and that is why they will be held accountable on the judgment day. Good quote on John 5:24. Good day. |
