2 | Is God in absolut contrl over all things | Acts 4:24 | John Reformed | 61571 | ||
Dear Hank and JRdoc, Sir Pent and I have agreed to refrain from a contest between competing theologys and instead, by God's grace, will seek to discover the Truth as presented in Scripture. It is also true that Sir Pent would consider it a success for us if only a consensus is reached. While I have no serious expectation of that particular expectation bearing any fruit, I am delighted at the oppotunity to search the Word along side Sir Pent. Perhaps we will disagree in the end. But if we refrain from petty bickering and remember our mutual love of Christ then we cannot fail to grow in the knowledge and the wisdom of the Lord. My initial proposition was: Dear Sir Pent, May I suggest that a good place to start is to drop the terms "calvinsm" and arminianism". After all we are not attempting to justify their respective teachings as such, but are rather concerned with Biblical truth concerning church doctrine. So brothers (and I know, I'm a "fine one to speak of tolerance")Let' enter into that spirit of unity that Jesus prayed to the Father to grant us. I deeply regret my own animosity and ask forgiveness of those I may have hurt. John |
