Subject: Is God in absolut contrl over all things |
Bible Note: Dear Sir Pent, God created all things. All things include Adam and Eve. At the time of their creation their natures were innocent and untouched by corruption of any kind. They not only had the liberty to do good but also possesed the ability as well for they had not yet fallen under the curse of God which condemned them to that spiritual death which made them slaves to sin. When they fell, we all fell and we all are born children of Adam and slaves to sin. Children of wrath. We also agree that God was not taken aback by this apparent disaster; All His works are known to Him and are perfect in each minute detail. It is inconcievable that anything He decided to do would need to be altered in any way and force Him to go to Plan B. You and I are way out of our depth. I for one am very leary of bringing God Almighty before the Court Of Human Reason. We know, for it has been revealed to us in Scripture, somewhat of His marvelous attributes. We must rely on that which has been revealed in Scripture and shun mere conjecture. I will say regarding the primary question, that if the Bible taught that God left Adam and his posterity the ability to choose spirtual good, that whether I understood it or not would not matter, for I must believe divine revelation and reject speculations that are opposed to it. If God had told us in the Bible that He has given man soverign control regarding his eternal destiny and yet retains his own soverign rule over them in every other aspect, I would have to bow before His infinite wisdom. But....I have not found it in Scripture. Your Brother, John |
