1 | why is Acts 2:44 not practiced today | Acts 2:44 | Thomas8 | 107705
Corinth shows... (1Co 3:3 KJVA) For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? Wouldn't the following apply to denominations... (1Co 3:4 KJVA) For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? How many churches do we pass going to church? How many people join monastries? How many people have gone, sold what they have and given it to the poor? |

2 | why is Acts 2:44 not practiced today | Acts 2:44 | Morant61 | 107706
Greetings Thomas8! There is a very simple reason why Acts 2:44 is practiced by churches today. It is not a command, so the church is under no obligation to follow this practice. People in the early church did lots of things, but unless we are commanded to do likewise, we are under no obligation to do something simply because they did it. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

3 | why is Acts 2:44 not practiced today | Acts 2:44 | Thomas8 | 107710
Hi Tim, I totally agree that we are not under a command. I'm not sure a command can produce the oneness like we see in Acts 2 and that unity did not last long. Maybe only a change of heart can produce a family. (Act 5:4 KJVA) Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. The disciples were not forced together. They wanted to be together. Who amoung us today would be ashamed to keep back part of anything? God Bless You, Thomas |
