2 | Spirit received is miraculous never non | Acts 2:38 | koscheiman | 173835
It is the gift of the Holy Spirit consisting of many manifestations. And no we do not receive the Holy Spirit today as the purpose for his indwelling is past. You may ask what was His purpose; revelation and confirmation. Since the NT has been fully revealed and confirmed by miracles it no longer needs to be. Plus the way that the Holy Spirit was imparted is no longer in existance. The Holy Spirit was imparted in two ways 1-by the baptism of the Holy Spirit which only occurred twice. 2-thru the laying on of the apostles hands.

Paul said miracles would cease: Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. (1 Corinthians 13:8) When the gospel was fully revealed: And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Ephesians 4:11-13) |

Well ... I don't see Ephesians 4:11-13 proving miracels will cease, nor that prophecies or knowledge are done away (1 Cor 13:8) ... nor does this passage mention miracles. Try again. Also, we do not know when prophecies and knowledge were to be done away - that has beeen debated before. |
