1 | You need baptism of the Holy Ghost! | Acts 19:2 | Hank | 88731
Gracefull: While I vigorously agree that Scripture itself is never contractory, our faulty interpretation of it is! When improper conclusions are hastily drawn from isolated passages, and when eisogesis supplants exegesis, error emerges as a sure consequence of mishandling God's word. --Hank
2 | You need baptism of the Holy Ghost! | Acts 19:2 | gracefull | 88733
When two scriptures seem to conflict...the truth that brings the two together into perfect truth is the Holy Spirit. We can't disregard one for the other. Acts 8:13-15 CLEARLY states that born again, water baptised believers received the Holy Spirit in a SEPERATE event...does it not? And according to verse 18, apparently Simon saw something when they were filled that caused him to want to buy the ability.... Considering this started on the day of Pentecost and Paul spoke in tongues...I am totally amazed at how you can just dismiss it....But you are certainly not alone. God bless |

Gracefull, I did not answer your question? What question? Your post contained no question, but mine did. And you did not answer it. I'm tired of this pointless discussion anyway -- and I'm certain many other users are too -- so if it's agreeable with you, let's just terminate it. --Hank

Hi Hank, "Gracefull, I did not answer your question? What question?" The post did include a question... "We can't disregard one for the other. Acts 8:13-15 CLEARLY states that born again, water baptised believers received the Holy Spirit in a SEPERATE event...does it not?" As long as the Holy Spirit is present to open the eyes of the children of God, no discussion is pointless. God bless |
