Also what about the verse in 1 Tim that says that God was manifest in the flesh. 2 | I would like to reply to Timothy Paul. | John 1:1 | Timothy Paul | 53457 | ||
Dear HR212,The point is the Father and Son are the same and always were. In John's gospel, the apostle lays down this great truth that Jesus Christ is one with God the Father. Jn 1:14 concurs with the verse in 1Tim and teaches us, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." And, Do the laws of Trinitarian doctrine make the Holy Spirit the Father? I would say Yes,we know that Joseph was not the father, and the Holy Spirit and the Father are one and the same. 1Cor.2:10,11 says,"but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." And also read Matt. 28:19,"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, are you in agreement with this, HolyRoller212? |

Timothy Paul, if Jesus and the Father are the same person, then what do you do with Rev. 4:2-5:12? Chapter 4 describes the One Who is sitting on the throne. Then chapter 5:6-7 states: "And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne." Who is the "Lamb" who comes and takes the scroll out of the hand of Him who sits on the throne? Jesus! But if Jesus and the Father are the same person, then Who is sitting on the throne? Does Jesus sit on the throne and then come and take the scroll out of His own hand? Even though our finite minds cannot possibily comprehend, much less explain, the Triune Godhead, the Bible clearly reveals it. Be blessed, MrsB |

Bless You,MrsB. You've hit the nail on the head when you said our finite minds cannot comprehend. Our feeble minds are so made that there is a need to quantify everything in order to comprehend it. We measure distance in inches, and miles, and in order to measure space, we use light years. This is why we cannot understand God as omnipresent. He is immeasurable and hard to contain in our limited brain. A concept such as three seperate entities being the same one create a short circuit in our logic process. Human knowledge is faulty, therefore misleading, and potentially dangerous. This is why it is hard not to question the attributes of the Trinity and exactly why we should refrain from doing so. We have a tendency to take things out of context and distort the meaning behind the message. This is where we are to become "overcomers!" Let me take you to Rev 3:21 where we are told,"He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne." What we can understand from this is that Christ was bothered by the faults of the flesh, yet He overcame them and became more than a conqueror. So if we conform to Christ in His struggles, then He will conform us to Him in His glory and we shall be with Him in His throne; His throne of judgment at the end of the world, His throne of glory to all eternity. Faithfully, Tim |
