1 | why does NASB say "the only begotten God | John 1:18 | mercy4all | 132429
I'm trying to understand what Greek words were translated in the NASB as "the only begotten God". No other version I have found says this, and I haven't found this translation supported yet. Any info out there?
2 | why does NASB say "the only begotten God | John 1:18 | EdB | 132436
mercy4all In the New King James there is a foootnote. NU-Text reads only begotten God. NU-text is the definition of the Greek work that was assembled from older manuscripts that were found after the Texus Receptus was assembled. In other words a majority of the oldest manuscripts use the word "only begotten God". the reason it wasn't recorded that way by KJV was those manuscripts had not yet been found. EdB |
