1 | Where have all the dead prophets gone? | Luke 16:19 | John Hermes | 11204
Luke 16:19-31 is a parable that Jesus used for illustrative purposes; John 3:13 is an emphatic statement of Jesus which means it is a fact. How do you explain this?
2 | Where have all the dead prophets gone? | Luke 16:19 | Searcher56 | 11208
John Hermes, they are not in heaven in the parable. Abraham's side (bosom) and Paradise (Luke 23:43) are not the same as heaven. Some take these two places figuretively. Steve |

3 | Where is Paradise of Luke 23:43? | Luke 16:19 | John Hermes | 11334
Steve, thanks for your attention. So where is Abraham in the parable? More importantly, isn't Paradise in heaven where God the Father lives? But then the Luke 23:43 verse was said by Jesus later than the John 3:13 verse, implying that after that time, righteous people have gone to heaven after their death. Is this correct?
4 | Where is Paradise of Luke 23:43? | Luke 16:19 | EdB | 11406
John Let me try to explain this. Before Jesus bought our freedom on the cross with His blood the righteous when they died went to paradise or Abraham bosom. Hence we see them there in the parable of Luke 16. When Jesus was talking to the thief on the cross Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise. After Jesus died he went to Abraham’s bosom and took the righteous and lead them to heaven. Ephes. 4:8 Therefore it says, "When He ascended on high, He led CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, And He gave gifts to men." So what he was telling the thief today you are going to be with Me. First we are going to make a stop in paradise and pick up everyone else then on to heaven. Let me assure you of one thing wherever Jesus is at is paradise! Be blessed and be a blessing |
