Deloris: Repentence is a change of mind about myself and about God. In other words when I repent I take sides with God against myself and acknowledge that I am a lost, helpless sinner in need of his salvation. It is at this point that God by his Spirit will reveal to us that Christ has died for our sins and has paid our debt in full. The moment we believe or accept this message we are born from above or born again by the Spirit of God. Each believer after being born again during the time of the early church were baptised. This outward expression of obedience to Christ showed outwardly what had happen inward. Baptism identifies the believer with Christ and in symbol is declaring to all "I belong to Christ and by his grace I intend to live for him the rest of my life." Peace in his precious Name Robert |
