1 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219339
It seems as though you are taking a defensive position for some reason. Where in my previous post “did I” say that you didn’t have the Son? The only thing that you confused me with was the sorrow ploy which I can’t find in Scripture. Boiling down salvation, to its simplest form, is found in the most popular verse in the Bible. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The problem comes from what the Koine Greek word of the New testament, believe, actually means. pisteuo, Greek 4100, Strong’s pisteuo, pist-yoo'-o; from Greek 4102 (pistis); to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ) believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with. Faith or believe are transitive verbs, there is no merit in faith; it’s the object of the verb that gets all of the credit, not the fact of faith. The total merit in God’s plan is the person of His unique Son, Jesus the Christ. If one places all of his hope for eternal life in who and what Jesus did God gives eternal life as a free gift. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin. Repentance isn’t sorrow as many would have one believe but it comes to us from the word “METANOEO”, meta to change and noeo for mind, i.e. have a change of mind about the person of Christ. Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Couple that with the following. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. These aren’t my ideas, its God’s Word. Have a great day, CDBJ |

2 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | lionheart | 219343
CDBJ, Good day to ya brother. The study of these two Greek words (Pisteuo and Pistis) have always interested me. Not being the Greek scholar as others are I'm curious would Pistis as it is used in James be classified or considered an action verb? In Him, lionheart |

3 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219349
Greetings lionheart, Since we find 15 accounts of the word faith being used in James it might help if you could give me an idea of the particular verse that you had in mind and I will try and break it down for you. A prime example would be the use found in the Jas. 1:3. Here the word in the Koine is actually the noun PISTEOS used in the genitive case; the case of origin, feminine gender, and singular, so you see here it isn’t even used as a verb. Give me the verses in question and I will try to help, CDBJ |

5 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219353
Hi lionheart, The word faith as found in James Chapter 2 is used 11 times and in every case it is used as a noun in the following forms; Pistin, Pistei, Pistis, and Pisteos, most of which are Pistis. The verb form as found in, Acts 16:31 translated believe is from the Verb form of Pisteuson which is the proper form from Pisteuo. It’s in the (imperative mood) or the mood of command, in the (aorist tense), i.e. in a point of time divorced from time and perpetuated forever. It’s in the (active voice), which implies that the subject produces the action of the verb, this is done in the (second person singular), i.e. each one has to produce the action for it to be beneficial for personal salvation and the object must be Jesus Christ the Son of God! Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with your entire household." I hope this helps, CDBJ |
