Bible Note: Hi lionheart, The word faith as found in James Chapter 2 is used 11 times and in every case it is used as a noun in the following forms; Pistin, Pistei, Pistis, and Pisteos, most of which are Pistis. The verb form as found in, Acts 16:31 translated believe is from the Verb form of Pisteuson which is the proper form from Pisteuo. It’s in the (imperative mood) or the mood of command, in the (aorist tense), i.e. in a point of time divorced from time and perpetuated forever. It’s in the (active voice), which implies that the subject produces the action of the verb, this is done in the (second person singular), i.e. each one has to produce the action for it to be beneficial for personal salvation and the object must be Jesus Christ the Son of God! Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with your entire household." I hope this helps, CDBJ |
