1 | Are all Christians going to heaven? | Matt 7:21 | Appleseed | 10598
Will all people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior go to heaven? Jesus is the door into heaven, and doing the Will of God get us through the door. Is there another view.

Greetings Appleseed! Yes, all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will be saved and go to heaven! (Romans 10:9,13; John 3:16; John 17:2,3) However, you have cited Matthew 7:21.. A person must make a radical change in their life as a whole. We cannot expect to enter in the Kingdom of Heaven if we haven't first yielded everything to Him- our whole lives! And if we worship Him both with our lives and in everything that we do, then there will be nothing that can hold us back from the kingdom of heaven.. Jesus will know us by our 'fruit' (the life that we live and the intentions of our heart [Matthew 7:15-23]). Anything not built upon the foundation of Jesus will sink! Even if you go to church every Sunday, you must let Jesus have control of your heart and life. If you read Matthew 13:1-30, you will see that there are those who will say "Lord, Lord" and who will not enter into eternal life and those who will enter heaven who do the will of the Father. Tell me if this is an example of what you're talking about. My bil had cancer and was dying. He and my sister were raised Cath. but never went to church since they were married, they drank a half gal of whiskey every other day and smoked a carton of cigs about the same, I have seen them go thru a carton in a day before-he had throat cancer. Anyway, I tried witnessing to them many times, gave them tapes to listen to, etc but they were never interested. Then when I knew he was dying, I tried again and he seemed more receptive, tried hard to get them both saved and they both did say that they had prayed the prayer. But at the same time, some friends of his father kept after them to come back to the church too. I tried to tell them that the church doesn't save, only Jesus. When he died, he had a Cath burial, they even wrapped the rosary around his hands, the same hands that only held booze and smokes! I doubt Mark would know how to even pray the rosary unless they taught it to him at the end. Then my sister said she was saved too back then, ut maybe they were just telling me to shut me up. When Mark died, Cathy went into depression nat. but it's been almost 3 yrs, she about chain smokes, still drinks like usual, cusses terribly. She just doesn't act any different than she's always acted. I think these are good examples of those that claimed to have accepted but never did really? |

I realize that you are 'skeptical' that your relatives will be in heaven, and I know exactly how you feel! My grandfather never went to church! In fact, he died of cancer in 1999 and accepted Christ before he died, but his behavior was also never 'radically changed'; he basically remained his old self until he died. Was he saved? I'd like to think that he was.. Do I know for sure? No, but far be it from me to pass judgment upon my grandfather who may or may not have been saved. You see, I've placed that in God's capable hands, and everything is upto Him. Noone can bring ANYONE to Jesus except the Father that draws them. We can be the 'vessels' that God chooses to bring the message to our loved ones, but salvation is something that happens solely between a person and God, and you never know completely what 'kind' of transaction has taken place inside someone's heart. We just have to have faith that the 'transaction' has taken place in our hearts, and that we are His! If you know for certain that you are being saved, as I do, then you have nothing to fear! If you don't know or are in doubt, then I pray that you will not be able to sleep tonight unless you have this settled once and for all with God, and you are absolutely sure of your salvation!
