1 | Are all Christians going to heaven? | Matt 7:21 | Appleseed | 10598
Will all people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior go to heaven? Jesus is the door into heaven, and doing the Will of God get us through the door. Is there another view.
2 | Are all Christians going to heaven? | Matt 7:21 | Bob Y. | 24159
I know that this question is an old posting, but maybe this may help someone else reading it: Some believers who read Matt 7:21 feel uneasy about the security of their salvation. Anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their savior and attaches their life to what He did on the cross, has their place secure in Heaven for eternity. Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope (anticipation,Str.1680) of the glory of God." I know someone who has been a "Christian" all their life, and even taught Sunday school, being active in their church. They told me that Jesus was not the only way to Heaven and that I was narrow minded for thinking so. They told me that Buddist, Hindus, Islamics and anyone who is a "good" person is going to go to Heaven. They told me that a lot of Christians are going to be surprised when they get to Heaven and they see all who believed in a god there. This was their belief because they could "feel" it in their heart, not from the Bible. I looked at this person quite surprised and said (almost without being aware I had said it out loud) "Your not a Christian!" This person became angry and said "How dare you say that I'm not a Christian!" I feel I handled that quite poorly, but the point is many people spend their lives going to "Christian" churches, doing many "good works" in Jesus name, yet have no idea that one must personally surrender their life, in faith, to Jesus Christ in order to be saved from distruction. These are the ones who will be crying "Lord, Lord" in Matt 7:21, not someone struggling with sin who loves and trusts Jesus. The apostle Paul said his flesh was constantly at war with his spirit. That his spirit would know what to do yet his flesh would do otherwise. Romans 7:14-25 "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (nasb) Let no one, whos heart belongs to Jesus, walk in doubt! Matt 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." |
