1 | What about the Silent Prayer | Matt 6:5 | ONERICHWOMAN | 21790
I trying to explain to someone that there is no such thing as a silent prayer. Can you tell which scriptures would back up the fact that we need to verbally commmunicate with God? Even though God already know what we have need of before we even ask!
2 | What about the Silent Prayer | Matt 6:5 | prayon | 21791
Greetings Onerichwoman! I know of no scripture in the bible that says we must pray verbally. Prayer can be in any form, verbal or silent. I was told once, although I don't have a scripture for it, when you pray outloud Satan can hear your prayer; but when you pray silently he can not. Matt 6:5-6 says that we are to enter into our prayer closet and pray in secret. Luke 18:1 and 1Thes 5:17 states we are to pray continuously - I don't think we would be praying out loud continuously. Sorry but I believe prayer can be said silently. Is there a scripture that you believe said we are to always pray verbally? prayon
3 | What about the Silent Prayer | Matt 6:5 | ONERICHWOMAN | 21802
Matthews 6:5-6 Praying in secret doesn't necessarily mean pray silently- It means do not pray for show- meaning the only time you pray is when there is an audiance, we ought to have intimacy with God.#2 In Romans 10:9-10 it states if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths........... It is one thing to believe something however God knew the importance of our words. What you consider a silent prayer is really meditation!
