NASB | Matthew 6:5 ¶ "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 6:5 ¶ "Also, when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to pray [publicly] standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets so that they may be seen by men. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they [already] have their reward in full. |
Bible Question (short): What versus talk about praying silently |
Question (full): I once read a verse that talked about (in general) when praying to God to pray within you and don't stand on the corner talking about nothing just so people will hear you (or something to that effect). Would you happen to know the verse I am referring to, or which book of the Bible talks about praying. |
