2 | Should a divorced person remarry? | Matt 5:31 | DAIRYLEADER5 | 93021
Mathew 19;9,1st Cor,7;1-9,Some people believe that divorceing a wife has no justification under any cercomstances, Its view as harming the Church which mantains the foundation of a strong family unit. Jesus said, not forgetting what moses said, Jesus said, saveing for the cause of fornication, Fornication is, zanah, or what we call adultry. Some one wrote on the forum a little while back that adultry was not a cause for divorce, sorry to say, Jesus said it was. We try to hold the family unit together but Jesus knew that at times there would be people of hardness of heart who wanted the lust of the flesh more.Paul also said that it was better to marry than to burn.So to answer to your question, Paul said if you cannot contain, it is better to marry than to burn. Love in Jesus.

DairyLeader5: This is justme. I think youintended this for GeorJoy. However I will ask do you know the difference in "putting away" and "divorce"? These two terms used in Scripture have a huge impact on knowing what Jesus was saying. If you would like I will explain it. Blessings. justme |

5 | explain please | Matt 5:31 | justme | 93179
Charley: "Putting away" was a common practice. The wife was kicked out and left to fend for herself. The Husband could still clain his legal rights to her. So if she were to remarry and if some later date the the first husband went to get his wife back, she had to go back to him. Because she had not been given a note of divorcement. So in a legal right she had commited adulterry. Moses permited divorce but not "putting away". In Matthew when Jesus says divorce He is refering to the term of "putting away" which God hates! The woman was treated as property, and Jesus set new standards as to how a woman was to be honnored and respected. Does this help? I hope so. Blessings. justme |

7 | explain please | Matt 5:31 | justme | 93210
Charley: Dr. William Cobel New Testament Proffesor at MidWestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City Mo. was my beloved mentor in 1985. Because he was a true schollar he was able to share this with his students for many years. This was to the healing of many broken divorced people, whom I had the joy of being a pastor of healing, to those who were told they were second rate Christians, and living in a constant state of adultery. The truth does set people free. I often say those who try to add more pain to those who are so broken in spirit, have not a clue what it is to experience Jesus forgiveness. Blessings Charley. justme |
