Bible Question (short): Mental Illness

Question (full): What does the bible say about mental illness? My spouse was diagnosed with bipolar disorder July 2001. I have done research and we have done research together. We are in counseling, and I am in individual counseling, but I still feel like giving up at times. I struggle with how this will affect our children as they get older. I'm looking for scriptures to give me hope. Thank you.
