1 | Name it and claim it?????????????? | Matt 4:3 | Dalprad | 25038
I have my suspicions as well. I've listened to some preach about it and have read about it. I do believe that God will provide in excess to those who truly walk in faith. If God knows you will use all of your resources for His glory why wouldn't he? I think the same applies to health etc. The bible makes clear promises that living a Godly life will lead to long life and health. All of these things I think must result from walking in faith. If you walk in faith, your words of faith will follow naturally. Speaking in faith and in line with God's word could help build your faith. And one thing I do agree with is the danger of speaking negativly. It just shows what you believe. If you say "I'll never be able to afford that", then you surely won't. Even if it is in line with God's plan for you, if you don't believe, it won't happen. I would say be very cautious of these teachers, but don't be too quick to judge those who's lives have been very blessed due to their incredible faith. I think sometimes they are so used to knowing what it is like to have so much faith and blessing, they forget what it is like to have doubts and worries. They end up coming off sounding arrogant. Just an opinion, hope it helps.

Proverbs 3 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 1 Corinthians 11 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. John 16 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. Joe! My comment "The bible makes clear promises that living a Godly life will lead to long life and health" was overboard. You can make your points without being cynical. I don't subscribe to all the faith teachers, I just caution being quick to judge all of them. Proverbs 3 could provide a different perspective. Suffering for Christ may be necessary, but suffering is not a sign of faith. Sometimes people suffer because of bad things too. In the same way, riches does not indicate faith, but God can bless in many ways. This concludes my participation in this discussion. Thanks. |
