Hi Azure, Thank you for your kind invitation. I will give it careful consideration. I am somewhat reluctant to share too much about myself. I often find the forum to be somewhat frustrating. It is often difficult to get an answer to the call of the question based on scripture. Then you are hit with the opinions of experts, but lacking the scriptural support for those opinions. Then the discussion is framed as the questioner vs the experts. Then the un-Christian personal insults and snide remarks start. Meanwhile, the call of the question remains unanswered. There have been many excellent postings on the forum, but many of those individuals don’t seem to stick around very long. I consider the forum a place where the truth of scripture can be sought and shared with others. I have no denominational ties. I go to church and study the Bible with an eye to the truth, wherever that may lead. I am just an everyday lay person and I try to strengthen my faith by the study of God’s Word. I try to follow the example of the Bereans of Acts 17:10-11 “As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” What better expert than Paul. Note: They examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Today, we are expected to accept the experts and blindly follow. Thank you again, Jim |
