1 | Matthew 19:16-30 please clarify? | Matt 19:29 | Searcher56 | 111403
Scripture ... Matt 19:16--20:20-28, Mark 10:35-45 ... Expand Matthew 19:16 even beyond verse 30 or 20:16. The disciples were clamoring for position ... they may not have wanted to be servants. We don't know what position we will hold in the Kingdom. We need to be willing to be last on earth and even in the Kingdom. God will elevate whom He chooses. It could be the unnoticed one who cleans up will be on His right side. I don't think the amount of rewards will determine poistion. |

2 | Matthew 19:16-30 please clarify? | Matt 19:29 | Ken John | 111496
I agree that the disciples did not think of themselves as servants in the Kingdom reading their statement in verse 27 and Jesus confirms that they will be "upon twelve thones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." (verse 28) It's interesting to note that Jesus did not rebuke Peter for his earlier remarks. Yet in Mark 10:40 after John and James had made a request to Jesus to sit one on His right hand and the other on His left, Jesus told them it is not His to give "but it is given to them for whom it is prepared." Is there a contradiction here? There is so little we know about the Kingdom but, maybe, it is not for us to know until we are ready to be told the mystery things of God. Blessings, Ken John.
