1 | Unpardonable sin | Matt 12:32 | justme | 143812
Hank: My study of Scripture in relationship to the "unpardonable sin" has boiled down to one conclusion, and that is to reject Jesus Christ, and to remain in that belief at the time of ones death. A person who so rejects the Holy Spirit's pleading to make Christ Lord has blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Is this not what you have saiid? I believe satan uses this topic to cause believers to doubt the "sealing of the Holy Spirit" upon us as the mark of Jesus Christ's ownership of us. Then again this also points us to the "eternal secuurity of the believer", at least from my Baptist point of understanding of Scripture. (I am not trying to push my theological view point on anyone) My belief is that only at ones death is the sin "unpardonable". Would you not agree? Blessings to you Hank. justme |

2 | Unpardonable sin | Matt 12:32 | Ray | 143816
Hi justme, If you are open to the "power from on high", that holy spirit power, that spiritual power that Jesus had; then let's consider Ephesians 1:13. You spoke of believing in Him and being sealed "of the Holy Spirit". I believe that we were sealed with the holy spirit of promise, that promised gift from God. The Spirit of truth reminds us of all the things that Jesus said; the word of God. We hear the message of truth, the saving words of the gospel of salvation which is given as a down payment of our inheritance. We are given a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:13-17. It is when we are sealed with the holy spirit and are washed in the word of God, that we express faith in the Lord Jesus and have that saving knowledge of Him. We can not see the finger or the spirit of God any more than we can see the wind that blows. But that is the way of the Spirit of God. I believe that unless we are born of water and the spirit, we cannot enter into the kingdom of God. If we are born from above, become believers and enter into the kingdom of God, then we do not blaspheme the Holy Spirit but rather we recognize His spiritual power. From the heart, Ray |

Ray: Good to hear from you, how are you doing? As for you note I could not have expressed what you said any better. I totally agree, and what you have said is almost word for word Scripture. I fail to understand how Ephesians 1:13-14 is not proof positive that we are saved for eternity. That is such a powerful blessing that God has given us! Blessings Ray. justme |
