1 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Mommapbs | 22004
Yes, I agree that God loves a cheerful giver, and that the offering made in love is more honorable than the offering made out of obligation. The "tithe" is ONLY ten percent - yet it is the LORD who gives us EVERYTHING we have! In reality, it ALL belongs to Him! What we do with our gifts and talents, monetary and otherwize does fall under His scrutiny; for the Lord alone knows the intent of our heart! He alone is able to judge our motivation. 2 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Searcher56 | 22016
Scriptue ... Num 18:21, 26; Deu 14:22-27, 28-29 Mommapbs, While a "tithe" means 10 percent, there were three tithes given: 1) the general tithe paid to the Levites (Num 18:21), who even tithed to the preists (vs 26). 2) the sacred meal tithe (Deu 14:22-27) 3) The tri-annual tithe to the poor (Deu 14:28-29) You are correct that all belongs to Him and He could take it away, like He did with Job (Job 1), so I'd give Him my best.
