1 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Mommapbs | 21944
If one is led by the Spirit to give, and "para-church" ministries have consistently been that leading, should an individual be disqualified for a leadership role within the local church because the entire tithe has not been given to that institution?
2 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | jlpangilinan | 21954
My interest to your question is different. 1. What the meaning of tithe for you is the 10 percent of your gross, or a love offering that mentioned in the bible? 2. Do you believed that it is appropriate to give tithe than love offering? I raise this question to you because I think it is wrong that we required our brother and sisters to give tithe. I think the right giving is love offering and it was taught in the new testament. We know that there is no any teaching of Jesus Christ in the new Testament that will required anyone to gave 10 percent of his gross or whatsover. We know also that most of his teaching is love and charity. But I am not saying that the giving is wrong, if you can give more that 10 percent it is acceptable to God, but it will not require you how much you can give but how much you love to give. 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver Thanks, Johnny |

3 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Mommapbs | 22004
Yes, I agree that God loves a cheerful giver, and that the offering made in love is more honorable than the offering made out of obligation. The "tithe" is ONLY ten percent - yet it is the LORD who gives us EVERYTHING we have! In reality, it ALL belongs to Him! What we do with our gifts and talents, monetary and otherwize does fall under His scrutiny; for the Lord alone knows the intent of our heart! He alone is able to judge our motivation. 4 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Searcher56 | 22016
Scriptue ... Num 18:21, 26; Deu 14:22-27, 28-29 Mommapbs, While a "tithe" means 10 percent, there were three tithes given: 1) the general tithe paid to the Levites (Num 18:21), who even tithed to the preists (vs 26). 2) the sacred meal tithe (Deu 14:22-27) 3) The tri-annual tithe to the poor (Deu 14:28-29) You are correct that all belongs to Him and He could take it away, like He did with Job (Job 1), so I'd give Him my best.
