1 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | Searcher56 | 21952
Scripture ... Phil 3:17, 1 Tim 4:12, 1 Pet 5:3 ... Mommapbs, does the leader expect others to follow his example or to give to the local church? I see a BIG problem if the leader doesn't give to the local church, as an example to others. I've a hard time with "led by the Spirit" to give to another organization IF it is taking away from the giving to the local church. Why is the leader limited to the tithe of 27 percent? If the leader wants to give more, it could be to another organizaion. The disqualification may be based on what the church's consitution says, too. IMHO, Searcher |

Shalom Yes, Levites paid tithes of their gifts to the Lord (1/10 of their 1/10) and it went to the priests. See Num. chapter 18, specifically verses 21 - 32. Cheri |

5 | Does not tithing disqualify leadership? | Mal 3:10 | skccab | 203454
Hi Thomas, That's a very good question. The scripture I gave earlier simply states that the sons of Israel would pay their first fruits and it would go to the Levites and the Levites would take one tenth of their tenth and it would go to Aaron. Now this was only of the grain and vine harvest (doesn't seem to include animals), so I don't know if the priests paid tithes or not. If you're studying on it, let me know what you find out. Shalom Cheri |
