1 | Seventh Day Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | anhill05 | 55814
Notice that this says the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. Sunday is the first day of the week. People say that the law was done away with at Calvary. If the law was done away with then does that mean it is ok to kill people? Or maybe commit adultry? Or lie? Or how about worship other Gods? If you do away with one part of the law, why don't you do away with all of it? I tell you that the law was not done away with at Calvary. The law is like a mirror. It shows us our faults so that we can run to Christ and ask His forgiveness.
2 | Seventh Day Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | Saint Luke | 164592
Anhill05 I tell you that the law was not done away with at Calvary? Book, Chapter and Verse please! And while you are at it, read Galatians! Please clarify your answer for the rest of us. Are you stating that the sacrifice of our Savior was only good enough to get us to our initial acceptance of Christ, and then our works determine whether of not we keep or lose our salvation and promise of ETERNAL LIFE? And you said ".....so that we can run to Christ and ask His forgiveness." Where in the new testament are we commanded to ask forgiveness for our sins? GOD ALREADY FORGAVE ALL OF THE WORLDS SINS!!! Please read 2 Cor 5:19 and Romans 5:10. Here is a cut and paste for you so I can save you sometime. 2 Cor 5:19 "namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation" Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. We HAVE BEEN reconciled! If you are saved, you have already received this forgiveness of your sins. No need to ask GOD to forgive you continuously for what he has already forgiven you for. If you are doing this, how in the world is this exercising faith in what has already been acomplished. It sounds like you keep going back to the Law and your own version of Bull and Goat sacrifices for your sins on a daily basis. And as for your statements about murder and adultery being okay if we are not to follow the law, here is some more scipture that should represent your walk with CHRIST. Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 1 Thess 2:12 so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory. The law tends to lead a person to try to find a loophole around it. Truly walking in Grace wants to make you walk closer with your Savior, after all Col 1:27 says "to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory. The TRUTH will set you FREE. Luke |

PS- This isn't so much directed at you as it is to those who might not be as clear in there understanding. In Christ, lionheart |

4 | Confession and forgiveness. | Ex 20:10 | ebrain | 164619
Hi Lionheart. Thank you for your kind words. Confession is only possible as a result of repentance, therefore there is no need for it to be refered to. Read about the 3 persons who were saved as recorded in Acts Ch 8 from v 26, to Ch 10 v 48, and count how many times the word "repent" or "repentance" is used, you might just be supprised. The Lord bless you. Edwin. |
