Bible Question (short): Forgiveness,Repentance,Fellowship. |
Question (full): Luke, Good day brother. What Jesus did for us on that day was a one time Good deal, after that there was no need for further sacrifice on Gods part.Once was enough. Does this mean we dont sin any more? We both know thats not true. 1 John 3:6 I dont think we have a contradiction here although it may pose a delima for some. This is where repentance comes in, In light of 1 JN3:6 we dont willfully choose to stay in sin,we deal with our sin 2 Cor 7:1-13,James 5:13-16,1 Jn 1:9,and Mtt 6:9-15. Forgiveness and repentance go together. Quick example, If I wronged you in some way would it not be proper for me to appolegise to you and ask you to forgive me? Yes we have been forgiven our sin past present and future. With the above referenced scriptures in mind would it not be proper to go to God with the same attitude of heart? I know I blow it on a daily basis in one way or another and I need to go God every day,it's part of our ongoing fellowship with God and each other. If we are not dealing with our sin are we walking in fellowship with God and each other?
