1 | Does this make pretrib rapture unlikely | Dan 7:25 | EdB | 70524
Chusarcik Who was Daniel's audience? It was the Jews, He is an Old Testament prophet, that wasn't aware of the church age. The gap of time between Daniel's 69 and 70 th week. To base any teaching about the church and the rapture upon Daniel is very dangerous. I believe this is talking primarily about Jews that come to salvation during the tribulation and the Antichrist doing everything he can to destroy them. This 31/2 years is the last half rather than the first half of Daniel's 70 th week. EdB |

2 | How can we know the saints are only Jews | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70549
EdB, Thanks for reminding me that Old Testament prophecies were directed to a Jewish audience and for pointing out that it refers to the last 31/2 years. I'm still confused, though about why the verse says "the saints", which I thought in the Bible usually referred to saved people in general. I'm only in the beginning of my study so excuse me if these questions are ignorant, but so far, whenever Israel or the Jews are mentioned it is a term that specifically applies to them, such as the 144,000 sealed Jews in Revelation, etc. If you have any additional comments to help me understand how the term "the saints" in this instance refers to Jews only I would much appreciate it. Thanks, Chusarcik |

3 | How can we know the saints are only Jews | Dan 7:25 | CDBJ | 70553
Hello Chusarcik, Just to make it easer, the word Saint in the Old Testament comes to us from the Hebrew word, qadowsh, kaw-doshe'; or qadosh, kaw-doshe'; from Hebrew 6942 (qadash); sacred (ceremonial or moral); (as noun) God (by eminence), an angel, a saint, a sanctuary :- holy (One), saint. In the New Testament the word Saint comes to us from the Koine Greek and was, hagios, hag'-ee-os; from hagos (an awful thing) [compare Greek 53 (hagnos), Hebrew 2282 (chag)]; sacred (physical pure, moral blameless or religious, ceremony consecrated) :- (most) holy (one, thing), saint. It is basically those set aside who have believed in Jesus as the Son of God. |

4 | Agan,does it mean saints are Christians | Dan 7:25 | Chusarcik | 70574
EdB, But doesn't your second answer indicate it COULD be talking about Christians in general as I first took it to mean rather than the Jews specifically? Thanks again for your comments; They are much appreciated, Chusarcik |

I am in 100 percent agreement with you on that one, when ever it mentions saints in the New Testament it is always referring to believers in Jesus Christ no mater if the are Jew or whatever. Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. |
