1 | Satan.. man or not? | Ezek 28:12 | sandrider | 57127
Lucifer means "bringing light." It is used in reference to the king of Babylon (see Isaiah 14:3, 12). Luke 10:18 is a little tougher. First, "Satan" is a Hebrew word meaning "adversary," which is often left untranslated. Hence, Jesus is telling his disciples of the fall of any adversarial force falling away from God (i.e., Heaven). Ezekiel 28:17 is using this as a reference to the king of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:2) in a symbolic sense, that he used to follow God but has corrupted His Word. |

2 | Is satan just symbolic? | Ezek 28:12 | erdmannes | 97712
I have been reading alot of interpretations on satan. And am begining to conclude that "satan" is being referred to in symbloic terms. Meaning advisary. In otherwards anytime satan is referred to in the bible they speak of any one that falls from God. But I have always been raised that satan is a real entity. A fallen angel of emmence power and intellect. He is not God but someone or thing that should not be fooled with. What is all this interrpretation of satan just being symbolic in nature. Does not that fall within something satan would want to do. Kind of like that fad some years when none believers were saying that God was dead. Please comment.

Greetings my friend, The only definitive "source" in the entire world that will give you the absolute truth about Satan is the Bible. Only the Bible will give you a straight, non-conflicting answer on just who Satan is. The Bible's answer is that Satan does indeed exist! Be wary, my friend, of any source that tells you otherwise. Blessings to you, Makarios |
