1 | Saved or not ? | Jer 17:9 | justme | 188873
Hebrews uses the words "Fall Away" in chapter 6. Paul also used the words fall away. My question is how do we determine if a person is really saved and backsliden or just a person who was not genuinely saved? justme |

2 | Saved or not ? | Jer 17:9 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188874
Dear justme, Jeremiah 17:9,10: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. You ask the question like you believe you can really tell who is saved and who isn’t. The truth is, you can’t, for you cannot possibly know another’s heart, that is an attribute of God and we are simply not capable. We are called to preach the Gospel, to every creature, not just those who we may think are lost, because again in part, we know not their heart. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 | Saved or not ? | Jer 17:9 | Hank | 188880
Hello, WOS - Though it may not sends chills down your spine, I quite agree with you: God has not made it His business to make any man privy to whether another man is saved or lost. It's the same with who's elect and who is not elect. Some people close to Charles Spurgeon once suggested to this great preacher, "Why don't you just spend your time preaching to the elect?" I love Spurgeon's answer: "Sirs, if you will be so kind as to mark the elect so that I can tell who they are, I'll be happy to preach to them." ...... I believe Jesus got it right when He said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned" (Mark 16:15,16, NKJV). I recognize that you quoted the same passage too, but it never hurts to repeat the wonderful words of life! --Hank

Thanks Hank. Well maybe not chills, but with your concurrence, I’m inclined to believe I’m holding a more proper perspective. Your encouragement is very much appreciated. Thank you Brother. Stand in His grace, WOS |
