Aaron: Having just read your user profile, I would like to proffer an idea that might possibly be of interest and value to you. Why not for the time being confine your participation in the Forum to the asking of real, honest, sincere Bible questions? Not a dozen at a time, of course, but one now and then. There are a number of very good Bible scholars on this Forum and I feel sure that you and others will benefit greatly by your asking and their answering questions that are of consequence to you in your efforts to grow in Christ. Does this sound like a plan to which you would be willing to subscribe, Aaron? --Hank

4 | Isaiah prophet? | Is 4:1 | Hank | 170434
Aaron: Yes, Isaiah was a prophet, and a famous one of the first rank, standing, as he does, as a literary genius without equal among the prophets of Israel. His prophetic book which bears his name has long been considered a masterpiece of Jewish literature, and it is particularly noted for its prophecies regarding Immanuel and the Suffering Servant. It is not hard to see, after a careful reading of the 66 chapters of the Book of Isaiah, why Isaiah has been called "The Prince of Prophets." There are many moving passages in Isaiah, but none in my judgment more so than the incomparable Chapter 53. Thanks for your question; I hope the response is adequate. --Hank

Hello Hank, I am glad you agree that Isaiah was a prophet. If you do truly believe this then all the writings of Isaiah must have prophetic meanings. That being said what is the prophesy of Isaiah 4:1? Love in Christ, Aaron |

6 | Isaiah prophet? | Is 4:1 | Hank | 170440
Aaron: Isaiah 4:1 is a summary statement of Isaiah Chapter 3. It is always horribly erroneous to pluck a verse out of context and try to make it into something which it is not. And failure to follow this prime principle of exegesis can be particularly disasterous when dealing with prophetic texts. --Hank

Phi 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Love in Christ, Aaron |
