Thank you Doc, for explaining further the quotation you used. I was pretty sure I understood it, but... I can agree with you about looking at the times and culture of people when we read their works. We are all given different levels of understanding and light (individually and as generations) - but, how hard can it be to understand the simple words of John in 1Jn. 4:8 "He who does not love does not know God..."? Didn't Jesus say somewhere (in the language of today), "If you cannot love the guy down the street whom you can see and touch, how can you love God, whom you cannot see and touch?" I'm sorry, but I cannot make and accept excuses for someone who claims christianity and fosters hatred in his heart for a people, any people (and even more so when the object of that hatred is God's chosen people.) But I do thank you for answering me. Alex |

Hi, Alex... God is not a respecter of persons (Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9). In the body of Christ, there is no advantage or disadvantage associated with ones genetics, nationality, social standing, etc. (see Galatians 3:28). The chosen are all descendants of Abraham (Galatians 3:29). Many of those who are genetic descendants of Abraham are not His chosen at all (Romans 9:7-8; 16). As a Jew I was raised with the assumption of my inherent superiority in all things, particularly before God. I was amazed to discover that my ancestry counts as nothing before the Lord (Matthew 3:9-10). I am even more amazed when I discover that those who God has graciously grafted into the tree (Romans 11:17-18), are not rejoicing in this incredible work of God. Outside of imputation -- that our sins are accounted to Christ and His righteousness accounted to His own (Romans 5:17) -- we are utterly undone in standing before a Holy God. We justly deserve eternal damnation. We utterly helpless, hopeless, and worthless. It amazes me that such beggars of divine charity would cling to any sort of merit. Oh how such an approach belittles and cheapens the precious blood of my Savior (Hebrews 10:29). In Him, Doc |

Hi Doc, Well it looks like you're still not going to be able to read it. That's why in my original post I questioned if he really wrote it. About 4 years ago, on the internet, was a book attributed to ML, called the black book (Type that in now and all I got was MLKJ with 3-4 things on ML). In that "book" I remember reading that he said christians should enter into the jew home, drag them into the street and beat them. I checked the first 12 pages available but it must have been removed. (I tried several different ways of searching, trying everything I thought might have been included in the meta file, but nothing but MLKJ mostly; but certainly not what I was looking for concerning ML when the searches did bring him up.) It must have been a hoax, since it is no longer there. But at one time, just googling "the little black book" all by itself would have popped up with these writings attributed to him. Sorry, Doc, to have gotten your interest up just to dash it to pieces, my bad. I think I'm actually glad it must have been a lie. Very sorry Mr Luther. As to your next post to me I don't know where you got the idea I thought the Jews are special because of anything about them in particular, other than that God Himself set them apart as His special people. I believe rhat the children of Israel (those today known as jews and those who were/are of the northern kingdom long ago dispersed among the nations) are God's chosen people. Like the bible says, not for any reason of their merits, but because of God's promise to Abraham. Like the Gentiles, they must receive their Messiah for salvation. And the church has not and will never replace Israel. Instead, believing Gentiles are grafted into the national commonwealth of Israel. Good talking to you, Doc. Alex |
