Doc:I have not yet read the articles, so please allow me to be able to read them later and respond to this if I change my mind. Are you and I responsible for for the personal actions of our fathers according to Scripture? Are you accountable for my sin? I am chargeable for those I have the oppertunity to witnes to. If I read Romans chapter one rightly then the responsiblity resides on each individule themself. The body of Christ, the Chruch must reach out and be seeker friendly, but even the Church Paul has written warnings about such sexual and immoral sin. Blessings. justme |

I will ask you a question in return: what is meant by God's call to us to be salt and light? In what way can we influence the world around us? What single group can turn to God and have Him heal their land? Will the land heal otherwise? Read the article and then posit your opinion of the scriptures that they used. Let us together wrestle the truth from the Word. In Him, Doc |

3 | Why the spotlight on gays? | Prov 6:16 | Pastor Glenn | 142334
Hello Doc, “I will ask you a question in return: what is meant by God's call to us to be salt and light? In what way can we influence the world around us? “ Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. “What single group can turn to God and have Him heal their land? Will the land heal otherwise?” These are scriptures that come to mind in consideration of these questions: 2Ch 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Jer 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; Jer 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. Jer 18:9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; Jer 18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them. We need to remember also that after the Great Flood, everyone knew God. Every nation on earth had living ancestors since the 8 survivors lived hundreds of years. I have no doubt that God will hold family leaders and various national leaders responsible for “not glorifying Him as God”. Romans 1 cannot be limited at all to the church. The scripture at 2Chron 7:14 does not apply to Romans 1, as the website suggests. Jesus said that the men of Nineveh would rise on Judgment Day against this wicked generation and condemn it. Because they repented after only one sermon from one preacher. This applies to all men world-wide, as does Romans 1: Mat 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. Mat 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. The phrase “…When they knew God…” (verse 21) cannot mean the church corporately or else the phrase “…God gave them up…” (verse 24) would also have to apply corporately to the church. In that case there would be no more church today. That cannot happen since Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (His church, Mat 16:18). Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Any comments? Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

4 | Why the spotlight on gays? | Prov 6:16 | DocTrinsograce | 142387
Hi, Pastor Glenn... Thank you for the references. I actually knew where these passages were, I was just lazy to not give the actual references or to quote them in their entirety. The question is this: In what way do we offer light? How do we know we are doing this sufficiently or not? Do we simply say, "Jesus loves you?" Or do we actually help men to know truth, sin, and the nature of God? In what way are we salt? Do we just stave off inevitable judgement, or do we actually contribute to making the world a better place for the reprobate and elect alike? (That is what our God does.) I appreciated your comments regarding judgement. I don't remember ever stopping to think about what it meant that "Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation." I suppose I had always thought it was metaphorical. You stated, "We need to remember also that after the Great Flood, everyone knew God." I hadn't imagined that Paul was talking about post-deluvian man. I thought it was more general than that. Even the Greeks and Romans new something about God (Pythagoras is a good example of one of the ancient philosophers who talked about a "one God.") This Greek word, "ginosko" is not a personal or intimate knowledge, but a general knowledge, an awareness. If he had meant an intimate, personal knowledge, Paul would have used the word "eido." (See 2 Thes 1:8, Hebrews 8:11, 10:30, and elsewhere.) I really am not giving all this the attention it deserves. I apologize to you and the brethren. Other duties are demanding my time. In Him, Doc |

John 15:13- Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. We offer light, we are the salt as we lay our lives down for people. This is what what we should be doing every day. We plant the seed,God will bring the increase. In Christ, lionheart |
