2 | How do you forgive? | Prov 20:22 | Searcher56 | 161241
Scripture ... Pro 20:22, Rom 12:17-21, 1 Cor 13:5 ... God's day to you, faith n hope Love is not provoked and does not take into account a wrong suffered (1 Cor 13:5) among otehr things. When we are wronged, we want revenge ... but we should leave that up to God and even eb at peace with those who wrong us. We need to let them out of our prison, where we think about how to get back. Sadly, some don't care they wtronged you, so keeping them prisoner doesn't matter to them ... some even like it. My wife and I have been wronged greatly ... but we let God deal with these people - one who cost us over 10000 dollars. We even still talk to her. We know what she did ... so it is not forgotten ... but the forgiveness let us make it so it doesn't have a negative impact on us. We forgive even tho they don't ask for it. Searcher |

3 | How do you forgive? | Prov 20:22 | lionheart | 161244
Goodmorning brother, You make an outstanding point. To forgive doesnt mean we forget. What we do is wipe the slate clean as God did for us,we dont keep a record.Keeping a record is one of the biggest prisons we create for ourselves. It's one we can ill aford to be in. It tells us in 1John that we love because he first loved us,thus we forgive because we have been forgiven. When I take into account all that God brought me out of I realise all that I've been forgive of. When we understand this we can move on and be the men and women God calls us to be. Thanx bro for reminding us all where our hearts should be. In Christ, lionheart |
