1 | animals and the flood | Gen 6:9 | MasterWalk | 170546
Animals may not have been created in the image of God but I do believe that they have souls of some kind. I also believe that God provides for their souls after they die. This may seem childish, but this is what I believe.

Dear MasterWalk: This is, as you of course know, a Forum dedicated to the study of the Bible. Accordingly, we must press you to present the Forum with positive evidence that the statements in your Post 170546 are in accord with the teaching of God's word, the Bible. Sorry, but referring the Forum to a web site is not the same as citing Bible references and does not suffice to satisfy the Forum's requirement that posts be biblically based and scriptural references submitted whenever possible. ...... A word on the web site you submitted in response to another user's post. I perused it, liked some parts of it, especially the art work, but object to certain of its premises about animals as having no foundation in Scripture. On the Forum we attempt to treat the subject of animals in the same way that God's word treats the subject, ascribing to them no more and no less importance in God's scheme of creation than the Bible does. There is not one hint in all Scripture that Jesus died for the sins of animals as well as the sins of mankind. Nor are animals man's equal in God's economy. On the contrary, at the very dawning of creation, in Genesis 1:26, God himself set up the relationship between man and the remainder of His creation when He laid it down very clearly that man was to have dominion over all the earth and its creatures. Dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, the cattle -- the whole earth and everything that creeps upon it. ..... So, welcome to you, and please do give us your Bible references about animals' souls and their after-life. --Hank
3 | animals and the flood | Gen 6:9 | MasterWalk | 170607
Oh sorry. I still believe that since God created animals that He doesn't intend for them to be abused or neglected.

I totally agree with you. I don’t believe that God intends for any of His creatures to be abused or neglected. I think that one of the ugly results of sin is that both man and beast suffer needlessly. All of the suffering on Earth ultimately comes back to man’s sin. I think that it is a lesson for us that sin causes suffering. The suffering of men, women and children, as well as animals should also help to keep us longing and looking for the day when “…the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy will lead them.” Isaiah 11:6 Ocelot |
