1 | Why does God send storms? | Gen 3:17 | Norrie | 133148 | ||
Why does God send storms? Maybe to wake us up or maybe to show how we can handle adversity? I know I was blessed going thru Ivan, we were on the west side, the east side is where all the damage was. I lost power for a week but considering what others are still going thru, that was a walk in the park! I praise God He brought us thru this so well. We are truly blessed. |

I like to think the storms in our world is God's way of trying to clean up the planet we humans have messed up so thoroughly. When one looks at all the awesome power and majesty that is shown throughout this world, we can only be impressed by God's talent. Look at the wonderful way this planet is balanced with the perfect amount of gravity so in spite of spinning through the cosmos at thousands of miles per hour, you and I stay put. Look at the perfect way friction works so that our car brakes slow our cars down just like they're designed. All the science that's evident in our world forces one to draw a solid conclusion. God is in charge and He knows exactly what He's doing. So, if He decides to send about 5-6 hurricanes out way, we have to trust Him and just "batten down the hatches" and endure. Our area is not in much danger of hurricanes but every single area of this planet is subject to some kind of danger. Ours is tonadoes. Some people put up with floods from too much rain, others put up with constant earthquakes like those in the Far Eastern "Rim of Fire." Others put up with Tsunamis (aka tidal waves). The bottom line is that this planet was perfect at its beginning with the Garden of Eden. Apparently, God kept all these things from happening but we messed that up and find ourselves with all the dynamics evident as described above. I, too am grateful that God truly is in charge of this planet and better than that, He's in charge of the next universe after the destruction of this one. Thank God He's given us the Way to find Him and go Home to Him after it's all gone. God bless. Country Girl |
