2 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | Lionstrong | 31332
Emmaus, The term does not apply to our first parents before the Fall. Since it applies to the security of those who have been saved from the fall, it does not apply to our pre-Fall ancestors. Peace, Lionstrong |

3 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | Emmaus | 31337
Lionstrong, I would rather says that we have been saved from the consequences of the fall. But, to rephrase the question. Do you think that Adam and Eve thought they could not loose Eden and fellowship with God before the Fall? There is that famous phrase that "pride goeth before the fall" paraphraing Prov 16:18. Is presumption a form of pride? And is that not what Paul in various passsages warns us against in regard to our attitude toward our justification even by grace? Emmaus |

4 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | Lionstrong | 31361
Hi Emmaus, No, I think Adam and Eve never wondered if they would lose their fellowship of God. Why would our first parents ever even think such a question? What would give them cause? Nothing would, nothing in their environment nor experience. Pride is sin. The first sin of the head of our race was not pride but eating the forbidden fruit. (Gen 3:17) Through ONE transgression, not two, condemnation fell on all men (Rom 5:16, 18) The sin of pride does not apply to the sin of head of our race. Peace, Lionstrong |

5 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | umagumadog | 149779
Remember God not only told us how he created man (in Gods image of course) but also WHAT he created man with (dust of the earth)a study of the word of God tells us that dust was contaminated from the begining with sin and death. When God threw satan out of heaven and to the earth sin and death came with him. We find out in Job that satan was IN the earth not just on it, sin and death were IN the earth that God created man from. Sin and death where Jesus went down IN for 3 days! Now back in Gen 2 we find that man was already under the curse BEFORE man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, man was acting already acording to the curse but until he ate from the tree and gained knowledge of good and evil man did not realize it. After eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil God REVEALED (gave them knowledge) the curse to man not placed it on man.
6 | Adam and Eve, eternal security? | Gen 2:16 | Hank | 149781
umagumadog: The message from the fall in Genesis is disobedience, not dust. Disobedience to God's command, that was the sin of the first family. Dust had nothing to do with it. The burden of proof is upon your shoulders to present hard evidence from Scripture that "the word of God tells us that dust was contaminated from the beginning with sin and death." Sin is and always has been disobedience of God's commands. It is not or ever has been a microorganism of the soil. Sin brings death to be sure, but it is a disease of the soul, not the soil. It is mighty toxic but not a toxic dust mite. :-) --Hank

Matt 4:4 What the word of God says about sin and death in the earth Job 1:6 Job 1:7 Rom 5:12 Eze 31:5-17 Matt 8:31-32 (just as Jesus cast out the demons and they went into the swine when God cast Satan out of Heaven and he went into the earth.) Matt 27:52-53 (came out of the grave, out of the earth. Jesus went into the grave in his coruptable body made of this earth same as everyone else but when he came out of death into newness of life he had a new body from coruption came in coruption.) Rom 10:18 (key term "every word") Brother don't be confused I never said or refered to a microorganism only the "dust that God said he created us from Gen 2:7. How can man be so puffed up (exept by the laws of sin and death) that his pride says he was the cause of the fall when Gods word clearly tells us Satan was the father of lies not man. |
