1 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | DarcyA | 99865
...I have studied with Jehovah Whitness and I see much truth in their teachings and I also see much error. JW doesn't hold much truth. They Deny Jesus Died for our sin they believe he died for Adamic Sin. They have no eternal security. They believe Jesus was A god. that should be enough to show they hold no truth. The NWT cannot be compared to the KJV. Its like comparing apple and oranges. ...What translation do you recommend for a youth? I'm looking for something for a child ages 9-12. They have a hard time with the KJV. Thanks. Candy Lee I am raising my son with the KJV. He is only 4 but I thought if I started this early he wil be able to understand it as he gets older. Other than the KJV it would have to be NASB. ...Unless you take the time to look up the Hebrew or Greek meanings of every scripture what bible is the most correct? It also depends on what they have used to get the translation. The NWT writers decided to make things up to fit a doctrine. Although KJV has a few errors (like the word Easter) Still can't figure out why they ever did that. It is WAY closer to truth than the NWT. |

2 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | candy lee | 100119
The JW's that I have studied with believed that Jesus was created by the Father and not always with him. They believed that they have to do works to enter the kingdom and according to the works they do as to the reward they get. They also say that Christ was impaled on a stake and not crusified as the KJV states. I truely love these people and have shown them where they are wrong, but they believe the way they were taught. That is a good idea about starting children out with the KJV. I've looked at a Zondervan children's bible and it's okay, but it's lacking details in some stories. I don't have a NWT because I have found it doesn't speak in unity with the KJV. I guess they must vary some from one church to another. I use to let them in when they came by my house. They didn't stay very long when they found out what church I belonged to. I'll study with any one and enjoy it. I may not agree with them, but I still love them. Candy Lee
3 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | Reformer Joe | 100120
Before the NWT was first published in the 1950s, the JW's used the KJV exclusively (as do most cults that don't have their own "translation"). --Joe! |

4 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | candy lee | 100125
I wouldn't call JW's a cult, maybe very misinformed. If they wereto use the KJV they would see the errors in the church. I do agree with their views on Easter and Christmas, also birthdays. The only place I've found in the Bible about a birthday celebration ended up with a Good Man's head on a silver platter. Candy Lee

Worship of a false god. Boehemian Cove-Molech worship, Baal worship, worship of any man/pope or immage-statue, worship of the created. Webster's Collegiate Dictionary defines it as- A system of religious observances.Extravagant devotion to a person, cause,or thing. The object of such devotion.A group of persons having an excessive interest in something. Would you like the page number? 173. I don't hold their beliefs, that is the JW's , but I would classify catholism as a cult. Check out the numerous symbols of Baal worship, Baccus worship, Ishtar worship, sun dials ect in the catholic church. I to have been accused of belonging to a cult because of my beliefs. In fact every church falls under the defination as given by Webster. Candy Lee

Candy Lee - Let me see whether I have it right. You don't call Jehovah's Witnesses a cult but you do call the Roman Catholic Church a cult. ..... Interesting.... --Hank

Worship of a man the Pope, their priest have the power to forgive sin even if they are deiveants. You get the picture, pray to dead people ,pray to statues,Claim the Pope is as God on earth, lets see, sounds like blasphamy to me. JW's ,I don't see them as a cult no more that any other church. Do a study on pagan gods and beliefs, compare to what is in the catholic church and you will see what I mean. Do I think catholics are bad? NO. They are people just like everyone else. Their doctrine is severly flawed. I would show them the errors just as I would JW's. The JW's don't have Baal symbols in their church. I do agree that their doctrine is flawed. Candy Lee
