1 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | Makarios | 100520
Greetings Candy Lee, The Archangel Michael is described as a "chief prince," but this title in no way equates him with the Lord Jesus Christ. If we look at Daniel 10:13 and 12:1, we see that Michael, whose name means "who is like God?" in meaning of word, not in 'actuality' (v. 21; 12:1; Jude 9; Rev. 12:7), is the special guardian of the affairs of Israel (12:1), being described as their 'prince' and angelic protector, being designated an 'archangel' for this special task. In the Apocrypha, we see that there are seven so-called "Archangels": Michael, Gabriel (Dan. 8:15-26), Raphael (Tobit 12:15), Uriel (1 Enoch 20), Raguel, Sariel (1 Enoch 9), and Remiel. These seven Archangels are superior to other angels in office and in commission. And Michael is ONE of these angels in the hierarchy among the angels (cf. Ephesians 1:21). In Jude 9, rather than personally cursing such a powerful angel as Satan, Michael deferred to the ultimate, sovereign power of God following the example of the Angel of the Lord in Zech. 3:2. This is the supreme illustration of how Christians are to deal with Satan and demons. Believers are not to address them, but rather to seek the Lord's intervening power against them. Jehovah's Witnesses are famous for absurd literalism and spiritualizing (for example, Leviticus 17:14 being used to deny blood transfusions). JW's are also famous for absurd typology (for example, Noah's wife as a type of the "144,000" elect).. JW's are "knight-jump exegesis" (1), jumping from one part of the Bible to another in complete disregard of the context in order to "prove" their teachings (which are in error). JW's are famous for a "rear-view method" of prophetic interpretation, arbitrarily selecting certain events, "aligning" them with a particular Biblical passage, and then claiming "prophetic fulfillment", which is also in error. Beware of the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and their completely unScriptural belief that Michael the Archangel is the Lord Jesus Christ!! Blessings to you, Makarios (1) An allusion to chess where the knight is able to jump in a "L" shape fashion, circumventing pieces "in the way." :-) |

Makarios - How are you, fellow owl of the night? :-) Speaking of night, the knight jumping was a good phrase. I like that. ..... If Noah's wife was a type of the 144,000 elect, wonder what Cain's wife was a type of, the feminine mystique perhaps? --Hank

Thank you, my friend! :-) Yes, the "night owl" that I am! :-) This weekend, I'm attempting to rest up after a tough week at the office.. Right! :-) Cain's wife was something of a mystique, that's for sure.. Good 'ol "Sugar Cain"! We cannot forget her in the line of women pronounced by the Book of Genesis! :-) Your Little Bro in Christ, Makarios :-) |
