1 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | justme | 100293
flinkywood: When ever I have had a questions, I make my request over the phone, and get the nname of the person that took my question. I ask about how long before I might hear back from them. If within the week after I was told I should get an answer, I would for sure call back the same person. I have never had to call back to request an unanswered question be re directed a second time. All the answers I ahve received have been in great detail and went beyond what I expected. So I might consider re-submiting the question, maybe it got mislaied somehow. In all fairness to the NIV when the revised text came out in 1983, I asked what changes Zondervan had made. Zondervan sent me over two inches of typed papers double spaced, with every little change they had made. That was clearly more than I wanted, but it was very comprehensive to say the least! What I mean to say is becareful what you ask for it maybe more that you expect. I would call this time, I am sure you will be pleased. Blessings. justme |

New York I speak, Spanish I speak, French I don't, but I started randomly Frenchifying after seeing a Meineke commercial in which a filthy mechanic is yelling into a phone, then turns to the camera with a smarmy "Bonjour". Colin |

7 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | justme | 100427
Colin: I attempt to try to deal with Greek and some Hebrew with the aid of language helps. Both languages take much time and patients in looking up and following up to the root words. I think every Christian should have a good set of language reference books. I prefer not to take the word of others, I generally look up words I have some questions about. Personally I take very seriously the priesthood of the belieever and never take this privledge for granted. Do you do word study Colin? If so how do you go about this? Blessings. justme |

8 | Prophetic perfect tense in other verses? | Ps 102:16 | flinkywood | 100464
Justme, I use primarily E-Sword bible software. It's free on the web. I do word studies from it, though randomly and without any formal method or discipline. I just read, hit something that gets me, compare that something in another translation, then either let it lie or start digging. For example, why does the NKJV have 2 Cor 9.7 "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart...", and the ESV, "Each one must give as he has made up his mind..." What about the Word "kardia" makes it either "heart" or "mind". Actually, I think I'll study this and get back to you. This is basically how I stumble into word studies. How about you? Colin |
