It is still my belief that "putting down" any religion isn't what we need to concern ourselves with. Throughout the Bible it seems to be that when Jesus knew that someone had been mislead or was confused or with question, he gave them knowledge of the true facts without "putting them down". If we focus our energy on getting God's Word, to our understanding, to people who need Christ in their lives we will be fulfilling our obligation as Christians. As I said before, there are alot of things that one can say about any religion to make that religion not seem as sincere as the one that they choose to follow. It is by faith that we believe. Jehovah's Witnesses have faith in their belief. Prodestants (with all of the "mini religions" that fall under this cateragory) have faith in their belief. Catholics and Muslims theirs... We aren't here to grind someone's belief into the ground or to diminish one's faith. Rather to lift up the name of Jesus and to praise God Almighty and to live our lives as closely in the shoes of Jesus Christ as is possible. The article that you have listed the URL to is titled "Jehovah's Witnesses in a Nutshell". -My suggestion to anyone who is "really" interested in learning what the Witnesses truly believe and why, is to welcome a study with them. Ask them questions. Tell them why you agree or disagree with them. Give them the opportunity to show you why the believe the way that they do and take the opportunity to share what you believe to be The Truth and why as well. I don't recall Jesus ever running from the opportunity to share The Good News with anyone, even one who didn't initially have the same faith as himself. You might learn something. Or at minimum, you'll at least give them the opportunity to learn something from you. Let's not put people down, but instead lift them up and share God's Word with them. Galatians 1:6-9 (ESV) I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— [7] not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. [8] But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [9] As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. The Good News Bible in Today's English Version 2 Peter 2:1 False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines . . . 2:3 In their greed these false teachers will make a profit out of telling you made-up stories. For a long time now their Judge has been ready, and their Destroyer has been wide awake! 2:10 . . . These false teachers are bold and arrogant, and show no respect for the glorious beings above; instead, they insult them. 2:12 But these people act by instinct, like wild animals born to be captured and killed; they attack with insults anything they do not understand . . . 2:15 They have left the straight path and have lost their way; . . . 2:17 These people are like dried-up springs, like clouds blown along by a storm; God has reserved a place for them in the deepest darkness. 2:18 They make proud and stupid statements . . . to trap those who are just beginning to escape from among people who live in error. 1 John 4:1-3 (ESV) Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. [2] By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, [3] and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 2 John 1:7-11 (ESV) For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. [8] Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. [9] Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. [10] If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, [11] for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works. |

Thank you for sharing these beautiful scriptures. I'd like to remind you though, that I am not a Jehovah's Witness. Nor am I "deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel". I'm simply reminding anyone who is reading this that we are not the Judge and that the way that each of us feels about our religious beliefs and understanding of The Bible is the same as others feel about their's. And that it's by love and the direction of the Holy Spirit that we will be capable of sharing the Word Of God to all who will hear and recieve it. I won't get into a debate as to who is right or wrong. -I am confident that my relationship with God is sincere, definate, and loving. In the same respect though, Who am I to say whether a person of any religious belief isn't just as dedicated and sincere about their relationship with God, as they know him? All of the scriptures that you've mentioned here are very strong and important (as are all of the scriptures in the Bible) and should be applied effectively to determine our faith and dedication to God. I've only pointed out the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses (and those from other religions) could also use these same scriptures to their advantage. For example: 1 John 4:2-3 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. All who have "intensly" studied with the Witnesses would know that they definintely believe that Jesus Christ is from God and "is come in the flesh" and that Jesus gave his life as a ransom sacrifice for our sins. They don't deny that Jesus was in human form or that he "is from God". Where the beliefs differ is that Jesus "IS" God. Just as an FYI, if you'd like to know what Jehovah's Witnesses truly believe (which I'm sure that some will check out just to have more tools to debate with and some will check out with true sincerity to find out what they believe and why) you can visit their website at http://www.watchtower.org/library/jt/index.htm I find it sad that individuals listen to other people's opinions as to what other religions, who they haven't extensively studied (whether it be for just for research, to see why other's believe what they do, or out of their own personal search for the "true" religion) believe instead of researching it for themselves. If they did, they might find alot of inconsistancy in that person's (mis)understanding of the other religion. Again, for anyone reading this, please find out for yourself what God desires of you. Please don't let anyone (including a preacher, Bible study teacher, parent, anyone...) do the research for you. It's your own responsibility to develope and cultivate your relationship with God. In the end, he will be your judge, no matter what any man has to say. Thank you again, for sharing these wonderful scriptures with us all. They all support my reason for writing my first note on this topic. That is; Galatians 1:3-5 3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. With Love.. |

In plain English, The Watchtower organization (the Jehovah's Witnesses) is a cult. They deny the deity of Christ. They are teaching doctrine that is false and heretical. Their New World Translation of the Bible is obviously flawed and deliberately distorts scripture in an effort to defend their doctrines. They're not just another Christian religion. They're not a Christian religion - period. I've posted more than ample evidence to back up what I'm saying. (Use the search function. Under user name enter: "Radioman2"; under contain these words enter "Jehovah's Witness".) Moreover, you say "I find it sad that individuals listen to other people's opinions as to what other religions, who they haven't extensively studied (whether it be for just for research, to see why other's believe what they do, or out of their own personal search for the "true" religion) believe instead of researching it for themselves." Other people's "opinions"? May I point out that the sources I have cited quote Watchtower publications to show what JWs believe? If anyone believes my sources have misquoted anything or taken quotes out of context they need only to check out the references for themselves in the Watchtower publications cited. How one "feels" about the Bible is irrelevant. Being sincere in one's belief is not enough. One can take poison with the sincere belief that it is not harmful, but their belief does not change the fact that it is poison. If one has already decided that the JWs are just another religion, that their teaching is scriptural, then that person has a right to their beliefs. My motive and hope in posting the facts about the beliefs of JWs is to warn those who don't know any better, lest they, too, are deceived and caught up in error. I have no ill will toward you. Nor do I hate individual Jehovah's Witnesses. But the Watchtower organization is teaching lies that, if believed, will result in people spending eternity in hell. |

Practically all of what the Watchtower Organization as you claim "teaches" is in accordance with the Bible. The trinity, eternal hellfire and all that Jw's believe in is scriptually correct. | ||||||
