JLY: Thank you for your response to my quesions regarding the speaking in tongues. In your response, Post #114423, you make the observation: "It doesn't matter what I say for you are to (sic) blind to accept the truth." That's an interesting observation, given the fact that this is the first time we've had any direct interchange on this Forum and you obviously don't know me at all. If you don't mind, would you be kind enough to tell me how you came to the conclusion that I'm too blind to accept the truth? Is this your standard assessment of everyone who happens to ask you objective questions about your faith and practice? Do you judge everyone by the standard of whether he accepts without question your beliefs and practices? Are all who hold a belief system different from yours too blind to accept the truth, whatever you mean by "truth"? You can see by my user profile that my theology is reflected in a belief statement called "The Baptist Faith and Message." This is a publication of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). It does not endorse the practice of what is commonly known today as "speaking in tongues." Does this mean therefore that the more than 15 million non-tongue-speaking members of SBC are also too blind to accept the truth? Please show me in Scripture where it says conclusively and unambiguously that those who do not engage in ecstatic babbling are too blind to accept the truth. What is your answer to the question that Pilate asked Jesus: "What is truth?" --Hank

You attack me and you don't know me. I was in the Baptist Church in England here, and people here didn't believe in tongues being spoken. I was there for two years and the second year I kept asking God is this it for the rest of my life, stand up sit down, stand up sing a song sit down and listen to some person waffeling on about a Jesus that he never really knew. Isn't it funny that you are completely honist with a religious person who then starts quoting numbers about how many people belong in his religeous order. No I can't show you a Scripyure for what you asked:"Please show me in Scripture where it says conclusively and unambiguously that those who do not engage in ecstatic babbling are too blind to accept the truth" but I can't show you and have shown you that when you are baptised in the Holy Spirit 99 per cent of the time you are given the gift of tongues. And without the baptism of the Holy Spirit it is impossible to walk the Christian walk. The Baptists don't tell you this, I was never told that God could live inside of me. And I have been in your country and I love it. I was at Pensecola for a week and it was great and I didn't want to come back here. May the Lord Jesus bless you and may He baptise you in His Holy Spirit.

JLY: Suppose we clear the decks right here and get this business straight about who's attacking whom. First, I'd like you to show the Forum wherein I attacked you, for you say "You attack me and you don't know me." All I have done is simply to ask you a trio of objective questions about your belief and practice regarding speaking in tongues. In a second post to you, I stated my position and my denomination's position on the subject. ..... Now you, in another post, clearly imply that Searcher is comparable to the Pharisees. How well do you know Searcher? ..... In another you accuse me of being blinded to the truth. How well do you know me? In yet another you quote Matthew 7:1, "Judge not..." and what follows in the remainder of your post is a series of your judgments railed against the Forum user. How well do you know him? ...... You appear quite ready and eager to judge and accuse others while at the same time casting the blame on them for judging and accusing you. You point your judgmental finger at others but appear incapable or unwilling to point it at yourself. If you were to engage in a few moments of soul-searching introspection and were to subject your behavior on this Forum to close scrutiny, might you not be able to detect a trace of hypocrisy in your attitude toward, and manner of dealing with, other users of this Forum? Otherwise, tell us, how do you propose to account for this dichotomy? What makes your religious views so uniquely right? --Hank

Read for yourself your answer right here towards me. I discern who you are by your answer, and it is complete contempt towards me because I want what the Spirit of God wants, you don't know the Spirit for if you had the Baptism of the Spirit then you would be talking in tongues. I thought that this was a place where people talked about JESUS, but I have never heard that name from you and if you were a Christian I would have heard that name in at least one of the correspondences with you. There has not been one blessing from you and a Christian could do nothing else but bless me. And this is to stupid, you sit arround like the Greeks discussing philosophy in the times of Paul, you are not interested in Jesus Christ, you are interested in your own self ego and your puffed up knowledge. You came at me with all the Subtlety that the serpent used in the garden with Eve. If you were a true Christian you would believe that tongues are spoken in the church today. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and open your eyes. God bless good bye my friend.
