1 | Has speaking in tongues ceased? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114310
No, you are wrong my friend. When we sing in tongues its in worship of God. God give that gift of tongues to be used. Now every Sunday God talks to us through one person (not the same person though each Sunday it might be a different person) this person will speak in tongues and there is an interpretation of this. No one else speaks while that person is speaking. Its one person speaking in tongues and another giving an interpretation of it. Therefor it is Scripturely right. No church is the perfect church, and no church gets it spot on. You are judging friend and you don't know us or anything about us. We are not a cult we are a God fearing God loving fellowship. Bless you.
2 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | Searcher56 | 114313
"When we sing in tongues its in worship of God." It sounds like your church does it together. ... If more than one person sings at a time (at the most 2 or 3 with interpetation between) - it violates Scripture (1 Cor 14:26-28). God judges you. ... Also what is your defintion of worship ... cite Scripture. |

3 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114331
One starts of singing in tongues, and you are not forced to join in, you don't really need to sing in tongues but its like the Spirit leads you to do so you just can't stay quiet. Its not the pastor or an elder saying, "Right we are going to sing in tongues now." It just happens. And it generally happens when we have been singing songs in English, songs of praise and worship to Jesus. You have to be there to know what it is really like, and we are not the only church to do it. Read the Scriptures man, "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues." All of them collectively began to speak in tongues. Act 10:46 And they were talking in tongues, and giving glory to God." again "All of them together." There is nothing wrong with a church glorifying God in tongues. When Prophesying it comes from one person in tongues, but there is a time when everyone just falls silent because the peace of the Lord has filled the hall and the Spirit of God is moving and God speaks. I will not be condemned over this (Rom. 8:1) we as a church are doing no wrong. We have a very loving and Spirit filled pastor who is very close to God. And we have a church who moves in all the spiritual gifts of the Lord, and the love of Jesus is in this place. Its the one thing that visitors notice and that is the love of God that is in this church. |

4 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | Searcher56 | 114334
Acts 2:4 does say "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues." ... but, if you look at the verses (5-13), you will see they heard someone speak in their birth language. I believe the speakers spread out so hearers heard only their language. Acts 10:46 was not a church setting, it was a sign to the Jews ... and God comments what your church does (1 Cor 14:26-28) ... and you have yet to defend yourself on this passage. |

5 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114349
Acts 10:46 was nothing to do with the Jews it was Peter visiting some Gentiles. And you notice that when he went in they were "All" talking in tongues. And as it not being a church setting, Jesus said, "On this rock I will build MY church." Where Peter was, there was the rock of the church. And churches started with house meetings then when the grew the moved into bigger buildings. At Pentecost there was a church meeting, it says, Acts 2:1"They were all together in one place." The church is the people not the building. It wouldn't matter if it was a garden shed when they were all together there was the church. And when they were baptised in the Holy Spirit they "ALL" began to speak in tongues."
6 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | Searcher56 | 114365
The bottom line is that you church violates Scripture (1 Cor 14:26-28). End of my discussion with you on this.
7 | Do you sing in tongues together? | 1 Corinthians | JLY | 114420
You judge something that you know nothing about. The church starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm. Three hours. Of that time tongues is used for about ten minutes, that violates nothing but honours God. The trouble with religeous people like you is that you do not know how to honour God. You love you self, just like the Pharisees. You are so quick to judge. The Corinthians were being told off by Paul, in three hours of service they probably spent half that time in tongues. You say you want the higher spiritual gifts how can you get them with so much judgement and jealousy. You read the Scripture but you don't understand them, try sitting down and listening to God instead of trying to show how cleaver you are. God bless you. |
