1 | How did the Trinity concept come to be? | Acts | TKO | 49665
Eccles 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. 7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. 8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher all is vanity. Mat. 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit, and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. 2 | How did the Trinity concept come to be? | Acts | Reformer Joe | 49681
All of these verses talks about the spirit of a person, not the Holy Spirit. You and I have a spirit, too, which is not the Holy Spirit. Both are given from God, but all human beings (Christian and non-Christian) have a spirit, while only those who are God's children have the Holy Spirit. "The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him." --Romans 8:16-17 --Joe! |
