Subject: How did the Trinity concept come to be? |
Bible Note: It wasn't Oneness that was being condemned at Nicea. It was Arianism, the idea that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not God at all. Oneness (the idea that Jesus Christ is the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit) did have its modern-day origins thanks to a "revelation" at a camp meeting in the early part of the 20th century. If you have historical information that shows that Oneness was some kind of long-term belief that was keeping a low profile due to fear of death and persecution, please provide it for the forum. --Joe! |
