1 | Resurrection Egg w/gospel Scriptural? | Matthew | poor_old_me | 187665
Not only in Matthew 3,verse 16, but also Mark 1,verse 10, Luke 3,verse 22, and John 1,verse 32, A dove is used in a symbolic way to describe the spirit of God. As long as the children are not being taught to worship the eggs I think its just an interesting way to teach them. Jesus used parables in order to relate to the people He was trying to teach, and it worked well. Remember about the mustard seed? Matthew 13 verses 30,31,32. Hope this helps. |

An 'Easter' egg represents man's tradition, and an egg represents new life...but our Lords Resurrection is not to be compared with man's tradition as there is no relevancy making the mix unholy be implying a relationship. as an analogy we should use a worm...dormang...brought to life as a butterfly...what a great representation of the Resurrection...the egg only has one aspect life, not renewed life. the easter egg product is presenting God's Word with a symbol of man's tradition in with symbols of His Resurrection...what a poor way to present God's most beautiful act of unconditional love and self-sacrifice. We have a responsibility to our children and to God to present His Word unblemished. Our God's Truth is beautiful and if we add something that detracts from its meaning we are held accountable. Are we being responsible with how we represent God's Truth?
3 | What biblical guidelines to tell gospel? | Matthew | lionheart | 187882
jfitness, Greetings and welcome to the forum.Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom of God. It's not so much the tradition ie. easter eggs on Easter that are wrong,it's when we love these things more than we do God and our walk with him. It's when we places things ahead of God that we get into trouble. May I sugest 2 Timothy 2:15 and Romans 14. PS- It's gotta start with us. In Him, lionheart. |

jfitness-I agree with you completely. I don't want to tell any little ones not to have Easter baskets and eggs on Easter morning but I think this pagan activity should be completely seperate from our Christian celebration of Resurrection Day....We should not be tying in Easter eggs and rabbits to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross...nowhere in my bible were there any eggs or rabbits at the foot of the cross...KEEP THE TWO ACTIVITIES SEPERATE. to try to tie them together just confuses the little ones. I also think this pagan activity should be left out of the church...I see too many churches in my nieghborhood trying to woo people in by having big Easter egg hunts....
