Neight1, Greetings and welcome to the forum. 2 Corinthians 9:6-10, Check out this passage of scripture. If we approach tithing, giving with this attitude of heart it would greatly simplify our understanding and heart regarding this whole subject. I dont believe it's a matter of one tenth or whatever, it is a matter of heart. Are we doing what we've puposed in our heart? Do we understand the most important reason that we give is that when we give we are giving to God. Philippians 4:19- and my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Do we believe this, because if we do it will help us to keep our foot off the hose. In Him, lionheart |

For example, if I know that pastors are supposed to be paid by 1 Corinthians 9:14 and if I have the money to pay my pastor, can I say that I have the right attitude if I don't pay him? However, the matter becomes more complicated (and may be a matter of personal choice or consience) if I decide to give the money to a charity instead of paying my pastor. Just a thought... | ||||||
