1 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | EdB | 116499
calmrage Since it isn't in the Bible I think it is safe to say it wasn't important. You ask the question, "How do we treat something this is not mentioned in the Bible and yet it may be important? (well to some people like me anyway)" We have to learn to stay focused. I believe one of the tricks of the adversary is to divert our attention from the messages of Bible passages by getting us to focus on non significant and meaningless curiosities. In this way Satan can significantly negate our time in studying the word. As humans we all love to take bunny trails, but each time we do we run the risk of losing the main trail. We also love to exercise our curiosity this is good provided we stay focused and let our curiosity lead us to a closer relationship with God and His Word rather than derailing us wasting our time pondering the unimportant. 2 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116570
Thank you for your answer but the Answer not acceptable.. I would rather have answer like "we don't know or Daniel may not be there " rather than saying "....wasting our time pondering the unimportant." Lots of things or questions are not even Bible related and yet we go by the Bible and explore the truth. For examples Existance of Dinosaurs. Explorer used the book of Gen, Noah's flood to prove that Dinosaurs did exist. Some posters asked about life after Death.... If they are not important, I guess we are wasting studying the truth and the Bible. My question is about Daniel, and he is in the book of Daniel. It's natural for people to wonder where he was and the purpose of God not mentioning about him at that chapter. Again, I appreciated your efford to answer the question. However, if we study the Bible the old fashioned way, we will never find out the truth of the Bible. Why do you think God put four gosepels instead of one??? Aaaah, don't tell me stay focus .. this is not important either, so stop asking..... It does not say why. But it is so obvisous that there are different angles to see what Jesus did when he was on earth doing his gospel work. Bible related questions are never unimportant.. but where it can be answered is another thing. |

Certainly... and guess what.. I just found out check this link out http://user.cybrzn.com/TITLDSIGNnsbaptist/dan3.htm uSE THE TITLD SIGN TO sub the word, can't post that *** These two verses speak of the command of Nebuchadnezzar to gather the rulers of the provinces before the image for a dedication service. Some have argued that such a condition would have encouraged revolution, but the gathering of the rulers would not leave the provinces without soldiers. Verse 3 says that "all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together," but the Question is raised, where was Daniel, since he was not listed with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It is suggested that Daniel may have been absent when the image was being dedicated or else his high position in the government may have discouraged any from accusing him before the king. They might have thought that by accusing those of lower rank first, they could then later accuse one of higher rank such as Daniel. Others suggest that maybe Daniel was in a place, during the dedication, that removed him from the gaze of the people. However, we must confess that at the present we are unable to conclusively give a reason for the omission of Daniel with his three friends.*** *** from the page i found from the internet At least my question was not just raised by me alone. Many Bible study people also ponder this question. |

Your right and I'm sorry if I made you think you were alone. Just as many ponder the question which came first the chicken or the egg. I'm sure there are an equal number that ponders on Daniel's location during various events in history. However I did answer your question, "How do we treat something this is not mentioned in the Bible and yet it may be important? (well to some people like me anyway)" And that answer is focus on what God considered important enough to give you information about it. EdB |

6 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116578
How do we know what God considered important??? We are not God... What God does not say literally may have some hidden meanings.. That's why we have to ponder and study about.. As for Chicken and egg question, I am sure it is Chicken first .. because God created animals first, and he didnt create egg and let it hatch by itself. So I think you are being sacarastic about that... Thanks for all your posts anyway.. I did get some insight from your views though.... God bless... |

Yes I was being sarcastic and I apologize. Your missing what I’m trying to tell you. The story of the three Hebrew children was given to us to show us the trust and faith others exercised in God. The Hebrew children while separated from their parents, in a strange and fearful land remembered their teaching and refused to worship an idol. Not only did they refuse but they stood in defiance to a man that literally held the power of life and death. When they were thrown into the furnace they did not know their outcome. I imagine they probably took what they thought was their last look at life at that moment. Yet their faith, their teaching brought they to this place in time. The story has a fantastic ending as God saved them. To me the greatest lesson here is the responsibility of parents to teach the children of God’s faithfulness, then to live life before them so that should they ever need to stand on their own faith, it is sufficient to see them through. Another lesson to me is the responsibility of parents to teach their children God’s law and to live a life before them in such a way that reflects and fortifies that lesson. I think there is a personal lesson here, for all of us. While we know the end of the story the Hebrew children didn’t. They acted on what they knew to be right and trusted God in doing what was best for them and so that He was glorified. Many people act as they do because they think they know God’s answer. These children acted in pure trust. Those are the important lessons of this passage and I can’t help but think if we ponder what happened to Daniel if that wouldn’t distract us from mediating on these truths. In any case this is my last comment on the subject it has gotten far more air time on the forum than it is deserves. EdB |
